Hello all!
Welcome to the Ink.Stamp.Share July blog hop! A big thank you to Jo Blackman and Laura Mackie for encouraging me to finally do my first Hop!
You may have joined me from Tracie St Louis blog or are starting your hop journey here with me, either way thank you for stopping by! There are some amazing products being shown on the Hop today, with the theme this month showcasing what we have been working on.
So for me, I have been setting up my new blog and playing with the new items from the annual catalogue! A very obvious choice for me is to showcase the Prized Peony Suite, well come on, it matches my crafty name so I just have to do it! 😉
With a friends birthday coming up, I wanted to make her a card and some beautiful packaging for her gifts….
I just fell in love with the suite the moment I saw it and I really love how the Basic Grey blends with the Petal Pink, with the added Designer Series Paper just finishing the project. When working with the Peony, I found by edging my die cut pieces with an inky sponge, then burnishing the cardstock both ways gave more definition to each petal. I then also, knowing how much my friend loves Wine (don’t we all!) wanted to package the wine bottle I had got her. This was inspired and CASEd from Jo Blackman’s bottle design I had made in a packaging class she has previously ran.
For the main present I purchased a piece of jewellery and wanted to pop the bag in something more personal rather than wrapping paper. Again from Jo’s packaging class we had made a diamond shaped box. I decided to cut the top using the Stitched Shapes Dies and then scored a larger die cut to make the hinge to secure to the top of the box, making the lid and punching a hole to thread with ribbon as a closure.
The card I wanted to make classic and simple.
So I used the Stitched Shapes dies again and layered the die cut Basic Grey & Petal Pink cardstock on the DSP base. Stamped the beautiful Peony Image in Basic Grey, die cut the image and added to the square layers.
I hope you like my project and I am now going to pass on to Jo, who I am sure has something gorgeous to share with you. You can use the Next Button below to navigate through the hop.
I would love to receive feedback on my project, so if you like what you see please leave me a comment, it is very much appreciated.
You can purchase any of the items I have used from my online shop by following the product links below.
