Good afternoon and welcome to the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop.
Today’s challenge is to create a project based on Easter.
I decided I wanted to make another Slimline Card… and used a few of our Annual catalogue bundles to blend together a design I had in mind.
I love the look of a long table decorated with a beautiful floral garland with colours of Spring, this is what I wanted my card to capture.
- Card base 10 cm x 21 cm
- Cut on the long side at 20 cm, score on the same side at 10 cm
- So Saffron Layer cut at 20cm x 9cm
- Basic White Layer cut at 19.5cm x 8.5cm
These cards are just over two thirds of a sheet of A4 cardstock, scored in half so they fit into a DL size envelope (22 cm x 11 cm). DL envelopes are the normal size business tend to use in the UK to send their post.
Or you can make your own:
- 12 x 12 DSP or Cardstock – I used the In Good taste DSP
- Cut to 24cm x 27cm
- On 24cm side score at: 6.5cm and 17.5cm
- On 27cm edge score either end at 2.5cm
- Fold and adhere.
Here are the colours I used in today’s card:
To make the card, I stamped images from the Forever Fern stamp set in Pear Pizzazz and Mint Macaron inks onto Basic White cardstock.
I then added the Easter Egg images from the Arrange a Wreath stamp set in the So Saffron, Blushing Bride, Balmy Blue and Highland Heather colours.
I ran all of these images through the Mini cutter with their coordinating dies and cut further leaf shapes from Pear Pizzazz and Just Jade cardstock. And the mini Flowers from the Wreath Builder dies in Balmy Blue and Highland Heather cardstock.
For the Easter lettering, on a piece of Basic White cardstock, using the Stampin up blends in So Saffron, Petal Pink, Highland Heather, Mint Macaron and Balmy Blue I coloured in and blended together the stripes of colours and once this had dried, I cut out the letters using the Playful Alphabet dies.
I then stuck down the cut leaf images as desired using various adhesives to give texture, then ran a piece of the gorgeous Blushing Bride Metallic Ribbon through the middle, added the the eggs and flowers with Gilded Gem centres to the card, then cut out the oval centerpiece using the double oval punch, and then adhered the blended letters to the card front.
Thank you for stopping by today, I do hope you enjoyed my project. To continue through the hop, you will find a list of participants below.
