It is great to finally do another blog hop again after a few months off moving and sorting my new home.
For todays Blog the theme is Christmas in July.
Now I am one of those people who doesn’t really like to celebrate Christmas until end of November, so I wanted to throw myself in on this one and make myself start to think of the festive period a little earlier!
I decided to stick with what we have in our annual catalogue and opt for the beautiful Perfectly Plaid stamp set:
This set also has a coordinating punch that cuts out the tree images:
Then I decided I didn’t really want to go for traditional Christmas colours so chose the following after being inspired by the Mini Catalogue:
I love playing with the blending brushes and those that know me know I love Stars and the night sky, so I had to add this in to my card.
Here is what I came up with….
Using Misty Moonlight and Polished Pink inks and the Blending Brushes I made the night sky, I love how the two colours blended give off a gorgeous purple haze in the middle.
While the ink was drying, I flicked water from the Water Painter over the card to then give off the texture of a night sky once the water had dried.
I the stamped the Tree image of choice in Polished Pink onto Mint Macaron Cardstock and punch these use using the Pine Tree Punch. I scored the middle of the Trees using the Paper Trimmer then stuck these together for a 3D effect.
Using second generation stamping I added Misty moonlight trees to the Blushing Bride Stitched Rectangle die piece and and then adhere the 3D tree to this piece.
You will notice there is a bit of sparkle going across this card and little dots I hole punch out around the Tree that is not added in the product list currently, keep your eyes peeled for the new Mini Catalogue launch in a couple of weeks and all shall be revealed…..
